Jacket Blurb:

Hard-driving suspense and intense passion are the hallmarks of bestselling author Suzanne Brockmann's pulse-pounding thrillers. In her tales of daring, danger, courage, and desire, men and women of action fight fiercely, love deeply, and time after time raise the bar for adventure to new heights.  Brockmann's latest novel is no exception.

Florida private investigator and ex-cop Ric Alvarado's life is spiraling out of control. His beautiful new Girl Friday, Annie Dugan, is far more interested in fieldwork than filing, and despite Ric's best efforts to ignore the attraction, sparks are flying between them.     Then one of Ric's clients turns femme fatale and tries to gun down an innocent man. Thanks to quick thinking and even quicker reflexes, Ric comes to the rescue, only to learn he's done a very good deed for some very bad people.

Suddenly Ric finds himself deep undercover with Annie, working for notorious crime boss Gordon Burns. One mistake from Ric's painfully inexperienced partner and they're both dead.

FBI Agent Jules Cassidy's life isn't in much better shape. For years the FBI has been trying to prove Gordon Burns's ties to terrorist activity. Now, thanks to Ric and Annie, Jules has found a way into the lion's den. But in the course of his investigation, he comes face to face with Robin Chadwick, the charismatic but self-destructive and closeted movie star for whom Jules feels a powerful attraction. Robin's in town promoting his latest film -- and Gordon Burns is a star-struck movie buff.

With Robin and Jules's help, Ric and Annie are soon entrenched in Burns's organization, surrounded by killers who may already have executed an FBI infiltrator. Before long the couple realizes that many more lives than their own will be at stake if they make a false move. As the heat between them reaches dangerous levels, so do the risks they're willing to take -- in the line of duty, for the sake of loyalty, and in the name of something that runs even deeper...

Available now...  A FREE promotional booklet:  Force of Nature Extras for Readers and Writers!

Q:  What exactly is the Force of Nature Extras for Readers and Writers booklet?

Suz:  It's a free promotional booklet, similar to last year's Reader's Guide to the Troubleshooters Series.  There are two sides to the booklet -- and two covers.  You ever see those children's books that have a story written in English, but then you flip the book upside down and the same story is told in Spanish?

Well, the FON Extras has one side (and a cover) for readers that includes short stories and an excerpt from Force of Nature.  Some of the stories were previously e-published here on my website, during my Into the Storm Countdown, last summer.  They are:  When Frank Met Rosie; Thoughts on When Frank Met Rosie; When Jenk, Izzy, Gillman and Lopez Met Tony Vlachic; and a brand-new, never before published, exclusive short story featuring Sam Starrett and Alyssa Locke called Trapped.

The For Writers side of the FON Extras booklet is an article on writing called Going Deep with Point of View.  This article includes additional excerpts (used as examples!) from Force of Nature.

It's pretty hefty as far as promotional booklets go.  We're working to make it the same size as last year's Reader's Guide, which came it at a whopping 56 pages.  (This just in:  The Extras book is 66 pages long.  Yikes.)   Kudos to Ballantine for printing this, and giving it to readers for free!  Most promo booklets are maybe 20 pages.  This is massive!  LOL!

But here's the thing -- there will be a limited number of these Force of Nature Extras booklet printed --and  for some reason not all bookstores are willing to carry this type of promotional item -- end result is that these things are never easy for readers to find.  (And I apologize for that!)  I'll be giving the booklets away during the RWA National Conference in Dallas in July, and during my Force of Nature booktour in August and September, as long as my supply lasts.  (See my appearances page for my tour schedule!)

Good news is that Ballantine will be making this booklet available as a free PDF download, so readers all over the world can access it on-line.

Q:  How will we be able to access the Force of Nature Extras for Readers and Writers booklet on-line?

The PDF file is now available!  But the file is huge -- 70 pages, including the cover art, so I recommend, at least to AOL users, that you access the file via Internet Explorer.  Download the FON Extras PDF file now!

Q:  I can't make it to Dallas, and I don't live anywhere near one of the cities on your Force of Nature tour.  How can I get a hard copy of the Force of Nature Extras booklet?

I'm giving away signed copies as part of my Virtual Signing for Force of Nature.  Everyone who orders a copy of Force of Nature also gets (guaranteed!) a signed copy of the Extras booklet.  So if you absolutely, positively must have one, that's the sure-fire way to get your hands on it.
