FYI: The chat organizers report: The Chatroom is JAVA Enabled so you must have Java installed and updated. When you go to the chatroom page, if all is well it will say login name and password. If you have to download or update Java it will tell you. Try to log in the day before to make sure all is well.

Another NOTE: This Chatroom works best with Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari web browsers. It does work with older versions of I.E, though it has been known to have issues. The newer versions of Internet Explorer (I.E) do not work at all! Please use Firefox or Chrome for best results, and make sure that your Java is up-to-date!

How to get in to the live chat:

"Use Firefox, Chrome or Safari & go to http://www.literaladdiction.com/author-chat.php. If you can see the login screen/fields then you're fine and can skip ahead to where I outline how to log in.

If you don't see the login screen/fields there will more than likely be a link to update your Java. Upddate the Java and reboot your system (rebooting afterwards is necessary, you will get an error if you just upgrade and don't reboot!)

If you see the login screen/fields enter a User Name (keep in mind that whatever is entered is how it will display to the room), leave the password field blank and log in. You can also Register and create a user account by clicking on the link to do so and entering your Username and Password there and then logging in. The advantages there are that if you ever come back the room will remember your preferences such as Avatar, font color, etc, but it's not necessary to do it - just entering a User Name and leaving the pwd blank will allow you to log in as a guest.

Once you're in and can see the chat window and guests to the right of that, the Avatars are the drama mask icon and you can change your font color with the palette

You can make the screen bigger by using the little tiny > Right arrow to the left of our banner logo, and if you want it even bigger, after you've expanded with the little arrow you can click on the overlapping window icon in the red toolbar to pop off the window."
