THE
UNSUNG HERO
Yeah, okay, it's still not officially out until Tuesday, but the reports are coming in fast and furious. THE UNSUNG HERO is in bookstores and
So grab your bike helmet and zoom over to your local bookstore before they're all gone!!!
And if the books aren't on the shelf yet, tell 'em to go into the back room and get you a copy -- and to put those others out on the shelves while they're at it! (Tell 'em it's okay -- you're friends with the author! <g>)
For
the final day of the countdown, I wanted to do something really spectacular.
But what? (Hmmm...)
I recently got an email requesting that I post the scene that I cut from PRINCE JOE. (The manuscript was too long, and I shortened it by many pages -- mostly through tightening up the writing. But I did extract one entire 6 or 7 page scene. You can read more about it on the PRINCE JOE page...)
However, as I was doing a computer hard disk cleaning a few years ago, I managed to delete the original version of PRINCE JOE, so unless my mother has a hard copy of the original, that scene's forever gone. (I'll check with her -- if she's got it, I'll post it here. I promise. It'll be kind of like a director's cut. You can print it out and stick it into the book. <g>)
But in the meantime, I'm exhausted! <g> This countdown thing has been fun. I've learned -- mostly the hard way! -- a whole lot more about Microsoft FrontPage, which is the program on which I've created my website. But it's involved many extra late nights and far too many days in a row of only 5 and 1/2 hours of sleep. (And I'm a strictly 7 hours or else person!)
So I've decided that for the spectacular final day of the countdown to THE UNSUNG HERO... I'm going to go watch a movie with Jason of the size 12 (and growing!) feet and then go to bed early. <g>
But first, some publicity photos from Jason's illustrious acting career. He's only 14, but he's got a resume of which a 24-year-old would be proud. He was in his first semi-professional show when he was eight! (He was one of Fagin's boys in Oliver!)
Here's the picture
he took with him to that very first audition (for Oliver!). He was
tiny! He wasn't happy about the way his audition song was going, so he
stopped and said he'd like to start again. The director and producers were
so impressed by his poise, they let him! And he knocked the ball clear out
of the park the second time around! (I was out in the lobby, with my ear
pressed to the door! <g>)
Here's
Jason as Randolph MacAfee in Bye, Bye Birdie. (Summer of 1999)
In
action as Winthrop Paroo in The Music Man (winter 1996). (He had to
cut his hair for this role. He had a braided tail about eight or nine
inches long!)
And
last winter in The King & I, as one of the palace priests. (He
also played the Interpreter in this show.)
This summer, he's playing Friedrich Von Trapp in The Sound of Music. It'll run for 6 weeks starting in mid-July.
Okay, so I'm off to watch a movie!
Drop me a quick email when you find THE UNSUNG HERO!
Peace and love,
Suz
