Countdown to

Breaking Point

7/8/05

My thoughts are with my friends and readers in London, as well as the families, friends, and teammates of the SEALs recently killed in Afghanistan.  For those who wish to reach out in some small way, please visit the Naval Special Warfare Foundation at www.nswfoundation.org

4 days (and counting to Breaking Point, in stores on Tuesday, July 12th)

Quote of the Day:  "I'm not negotiating directly with the terrorists this time," Bhagat told him.  "I've been talking to them through this American girl who's on board.  Gina Vitagliano.  She's a twenty-one-year-old SUNY student, a percussion player--a drummer--with her college jazz band.  The hijackers think she's Senator Crawford's daughter Karen.  I think we'd have a planeful of dead passengers right now if she hadn't stepped forward when she did.  She's bright and courageous and...  I'll be the first to admit that I'm awed by her tenacity.  If awe and respect counts as emotional attachment, then okay, fine.  I'm definitely emotionally attached."  -- Max Bhagat, from Over the Edge.

The Max-Mobile!

Note from Suz: Here we come -- in the Max-Mobile!  (But okay, clearly we're digital camera challenged -- we took this picture today, but check out that date.  Weird...)  Believe it or not, this is our black Honda minivan -- it's been shrink-wrapped with this artwork!  Is that cool, or what...?

I'll be heading out on the road this month, driving from my hometown of Boston, Massachusetts, all the way west to California, with my husband Ed and our faithful sidekick, Eric.

We'll be visiting Boulder, Colorado; Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada; Montclair, Coronado, Corona, Encino, Sacramento and San Mateo, California.  Visit my Appearances page to find out exactly where and when we'll be in those cities!

I'll be doing a Q&A session right at the scheduled start time of each signing (with the exception of the RWA Literacy Signing in Reno).  So you might want to show up a little early to be sure to get a front row seat!  We also have a ginormous raffle basket, and we hold a free (free FREE!) raffle for backlist books and other cool goodies at each one of our signings (with the exception of the RWA Literacy Signing -- once you attend and see the size of the crowd and the number of other authors, you'll understand why! <g>).  We'll have a HUGE raffle basket for the Rendezvous in Reno party on July 29th, though.  (It's not to late to register to attend!)

If you've never been to one of my signings before, visit my Signing FAQ page by clicking HERE.  Basically, we try to make each signing a great big fun party, where you can get books signed, talk to me, and meet lots of other really cool readers who live in your area!

If you want to know more about my raffle baskets, click HERE.

Watch for the Max-Mobile (and the three of us inside of it!), coming to a city near you!  (You can find the Max-Mobile on the highways or in the parking lot of one of the bookstores on my Appearances page!)  Be sure to honk and wave (but always drive safely!)

That's all for now!  Be sure to come back on Monday for the next-to-last installment in the Countdown to Breaking Point!

See you then!
