Countdown to
10/23/07
1 week (and counting to ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT, in stores on October 30, 2007)
Note
from Suz: Okay. I'm supposed to be hard at work, writing next
summer's book, INTO THE FIRE, so I wasn't going to do a countdown to ALL THROUGH
THE NIGHT, but I couldn't resist.
All Through the Night is a little bit shorter than the other books in my Troubleshooters series. It's being released as something called a gift hardcover, which is a little bit smaller than my regular hardcovers. It's got a smaller price, too. (But it's not really a novella -- at 84,000 words, it's longer than Prince Joe! We're just calling it a novella because it is something a little bit different.)
But in continuing with the "little bit smaller" theme, I'm going to be doing a mini-booksigning tour (Boston, Framingham and Plymouth, Massachusetts; Fairfield, CT; Clinton, NJ; and New York City). So it feels appropriate to present a mini-countdown, too.
Before we get started, a quick reminder: The reissue of FORBIDDEN (previously published by Bantam Loveswept) is available now in paperback from Bantam!
Let's talk about this book, the 12th installment in my Troubleshooters series! Let's start this mini-countdown in the traditional way, with my official list of (some, not all) characters who appear in ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT. (You didn't really think I'd reveal EVERYthing, did you?)
POV characters are highlighted in YELLOW. (Click here if this makes you go "Huh?")
ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT's Cast of Characters:
Jules Cassidy: Our hero. Openly gay, Jules puts the fabulous in FBI. A gorgeous twenty on a scale from one to ten and quite possibly the funniest, sweetest guy in the world, Jules has spent a lot of time over the past few months bouncing back and forth between DC and Boston, where his partner and lover, Robin Chadwick is filming a cable TV series.
Robin Chadwick: Our other hero. A former A-list Hollywood star, Robin blew up his movie career by coming out. But cable TV series creator Arthur Urban knows talent when he sees it, and casts the actor in an edgy new series being filmed in Boston. He loves that he's working, but this long-distance relationship thing is really getting old. He really misses Jules...
From Max Bhagat's FBI CT unit:
Max Bhagat: Jules's immediate superior and good friend.
Joe "Yashi" Hirabayashi: Deb's partner. A slow-talker, Yashi likes to take his time and keep his pulse rate low. Yashi's got a good sense of humor, and a healthy helping of respect for Jules.
Other Players:
Dolphina Patel: Dolphina (who first appeared in FORCE OF NATURE as one of Robin's "wranglers") is now employed as Jules and Robin's personal assistant.
Will Schroeder: The Boston Globe Reporter (from FLASHPOINT) is back in Boston and ready to stir up trouble to get a story about Robin Chadwick.
Adam Wyndham: Adam has the dubious honor of being an ex-lover of both Jules and Robin. He likes nothing better than to stir up trouble...
Jane Chadwick Richter: Cosmo's wife, a Hollywood writer/producer. Robin Chadwick's sister.
Lois Richter: Cosmo's mom, Jane's mother-in-law.
Billy Richter: Cos and Jane's toddler son.
Linda Cassidy: Jules's mom.
Gina Bhagat: Max's wife and Jules's good friend. She and Max have a daughter named Emma.
Molly & Jones: Jules and Jones became rather good friends after their adventures in BREAKING POINT.
From SEAL Team Sixteen:
Chief Cosmo Richter: Robin Chadwick's brother-in-law.
From Troubleshooters Incorporated:
Sam Starrett: One of Jules's best friends, along with his wife Alyssa. A former Navy SEAL from Team Sixteen, he's not convinced that Robin is right for Jules.
Alyssa Locke: Now the second-in-command or XO of Troubleshooters, Incorporated, Alyssa was Jules's partner when she worked for the FBI. Happily married to Sam Starrett.

Note
from Suz: POV is writer's code for point
of view. I use something that I call "deep point of
view" in my books. This means that I get deep inside of the
characters' heads and tell the story through their eyes, using their voices --
their words and thoughts -- as well as their interpretations of various
events. I stay in one single character's POV for each scene in this book
(and in other books in the Troubleshooters series, too). ALL THROUGH
THE NIGHT is told through six different character's POVs. Those characters'
names are highlighted in yellow on the list above. (Back

Note from Suz: I'm going to try to post each new day's countdown page before noon eastern time. Please be patient if I'm a little late...
See you tomorrow!
